2011 Letter from Mary and Chuck

Dear Friends,

            Smith-Berry Winery is excited to bring you our 9th concert season. We have a great line up of bands, mostly our friends from seasons past and one new addition that we think you will enjoy very much. It has been a long winter and we are looking forward to sharing summer evenings at the winery with all of you.

            Chuck has made some changes in the concert area that will make a big improvement to the comfort of our guests. The stage is now downhill from the barn taking advantage of the slope of the field to create a natural amphitheater. Maybe even more importantly the sun won’t be in your eyes and there is more room in the barn. We now have a poured dance floor with more room for dancing.

As always, the food is all prepared at the winery with the best ingredients either raised by us or found as close to home as possible, Gallrein’s wonderful corn for instance. We will start the concert season on May the 28th with Nervous Melvin and the Mistakes, Chuck’s Barbecue, Mary’s Garlic Cheese Grits along with other delicious items. Homemade items are available in the tasting room along with Kenny’s Country Cheese.

We have enjoyed hosting many group parties at the concerts. Call ahead if you are planning a corporate outing, anniversary, birthday or any special occasion that you would like to celebrate at the winery during one of our concerts. We are now renting our facility for weddings and wedding receptions. Please call us for details.

            Thanks to the forward thinking members of Henry County’s Fiscal Court, we are now open on Sundays from 1 to 6. Our summer hours starting in May will be 10 to 6 Monday through Saturday and 1 to 6 on Sunday. We think this calls for a celebration so watch for a special event called “Welcome to Sunday Sales at the Winery”.

            The concert and dinner will cost $21.95 in advance and $26.95 at the door plus tax. Tickets can be purchased by telephone with a credit or debit card and are non-refundable. We strongly recommend purchasing an advance ticket.   We often sell out and can’t guarantee that tickets will be available at the door.

            Tickets are non-refundable, no pets, no alcoholic beverages allowed other than those purchased on site due to Kentucky State Law and concerts are held rain or shine. Events are held outside so please bring blankets, lawn chairs, etc.
